Job Summary

The Fabrication job family ensures an environment of continuous improvement exists in the organizations production processes, operating procedures and workflows in order to achieve internal and external customer satisfaction. General areas of responsibility include ensuring smooth production flow and perform product inspections. The clerk will be responsible for preparing shipments and shipping documentation, processing material receipts, and facilitating material movement between processes and facilities.

Function in the Job

Medium/Heavy work - Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
Job Function

  1. Prepare paperwork for shipments (BOL, manifest, dock audits, etc.) ensuring product identification matches in terms of weight, piece counts, identified parts, packaging requirements, and method of delivery.
  2. Determine method of shipment, utilizing knowledge of shipping procedures, routes, and rates.
  3. Accurately create labels and shipping paperwork (BOL, manifest, dock audits, etc.) and affix shipping labels on packaged product.
  4. Operate forklift to move product/shipments.
  5. Record the proper information on required process paperwork, charts, check lists, or other control sheets.
  6. Upload shipping related documentation to systems and file any hardcopies as needed to ensure compliance.
  7. Maintains a professional demeanor when interacting with internal and external customers and represents the organization in a positive manner.
  8. Responsible for maintaining a clean and orderly work area.
  9. Performs all work in accordance with established safety standards and adheres to all safety policies, rules, regulations, and procedures.
  10. Performing other duties or functions as requested by management.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as a team member
  • Experience in shipping/receiving preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills with problem solving abilities.
  • Attention to detail and follows instructions.
  • Knowledge of products and services of the company.
  • Must be organized and be able to multi-task in a professional and efficient manner.
  • Basic Math Skills and understanding of blueprints is required.
  • Basic Knowledge in Microsoft Suite applications (Outlook, Word, Excel)
