TM Operations Manager or Supervisor
Are you ready to lead a team that keeps one of New Zealand’s most critical transport corridors safe and moving?
We’re seeking a Traffic Management & Incident Response Supervisor to oversee daily operations across the Transmission Gully network.
This is an exciting role with real impact—leading a team of 9 Incident Responders, coordinating traffic management resources, and ensuring seamless delivery of both planned and unplanned responses. You’ll be the go-to person for rostering, resource allocation, and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate daily operations, including rostering and deployment of traffic management crews
- Liaise with subcontractors, clients, and internal teams to ensure smooth delivery
- Organise training for TTM staff and ensure compliance with NZGTTM standards
- Conduct audits, reporting, and site condition ratings
- Manage plant, technology, and resources to maximise utilisation and reduce costs
- Identify and manage hazards, ensuring all staff and subcontractors are fit and competent
- Respond to incidents (planned and unplanned), including evenings and weekends
- Champion continuous improvement, safety, and operational excellence
- Maintain strong relationships with clients and field staff to ensure contract success
- Duty Manager responsibilities, including 24/7 service provision
What You’ll Bring:
- Solid experience in traffic management or roading operations
- Strong working knowledge of NZGTTM and CoPTTM compliance
- Proven leadership experience managing teams and subcontractors
- Familiarity with industry codes of practice and safety standards
- STMS certification preferred
- Minimum Class 1 driver’s licence
- Relevant tertiary qualifications (advantageous)
