Adobe Commerce (Magento) Tech Lead

Experience: 8+ Years

Role Summary

Hands-on Adobe Commerce (Magento) Tech Lead responsible for driving technical delivery and executing complex implementations across B2B and B2C commerce landscapes. Partners with Architects to deliver scalable, high-performing, and integrated commerce solutions across Adobe Commerce (On-Premise & Cloud) ecosystems.

Key Responsibilities

Lead end-to-end technical delivery for Adobe Commerce implementations (On-Prem & Cloud)

Act as hands-on tech lead across backend, frontend, and integrations

Translate business requirements into scalable commerce solutions (catalog, pricing, promotions, checkout, order workflows)

Develop and customize modules, APIs (REST/GraphQL), themes, and extensions

Contribute to headless commerce implementations (PWA Studio / modern FE frameworks)

Execute migration strategies from Magento 1.x / Open Source to Adobe Commerce 2.x

Drive performance optimization (Varnish, Redis, Elasticsearch/OpenSearch, DB tuning)

Implement integrations with enterprise systems (ERP, PIM, OMS, CRM) and Adobe Experience Cloud (Analytics, Target, AEP)

Collaborate with Architecture, QA, and DevOps to ensure scalable and stable releases (Adobe Commerce Cloud)

Own code quality, conduct reviews, mentor teams, and enforce best practices

Lead technical discussions with clients and support estimations, PoCs, and solution walkthroughs

Monitor production stability, performance, and issue resolution

Required Skills & Experience

8+ years in eCommerce / web application development

5+ years hands-on with Magento 2 / Adobe Commerce

Core Expertise:

Custom module development (plugins, observers, cron)

Theme development (Luma, Hyvä, custom)

Checkout, cart, and payment integrations

REST & GraphQL API development

Adobe Commerce Cloud (ECE Tools, deployments, environments)

Magento migrations (M1 → M2 / Adobe Commerce)

Strong Knowledge:

B2B features (Company Accounts, Shared Catalogs, Quotes, Purchase Orders)

Performance tuning (Varnish, Redis, Elasticsearch/OpenSearch)

PHP (7/8), MySQL, JavaScript, HTML/CSS

Security & PCI-DSS compliance

CI/CD, Git workflows, Agile delivery

Good to Have

Headless commerce (PWA Studio, React/Next.js, Hyvä)

Adobe Experience Cloud integrations (AEP, Analytics, Target, AEM)

Adobe App Builder / extensibility frameworks

Multi-store / multi-region implementations

Adobe Commerce SaaS services (Live Search, Product Recommendations, Catalog Service)

Adobe Commerce certifications
