Summary
The Technical Art Director reports to the Head of Art and leads the Technical Art function across FC Mobile. This role is responsible for elevating visual quality, improving content creation efficiency, and enabling artists to deliver world-class football experiences at scale. Working closely with Art, Design, Engineering, and Production leaders, the Technical Art Director drives technical art strategy, team development, workflow innovation, and the adoption of new technologies that support both creative excellence and production efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Lead and develop a multidisciplinary Technical Art team, fostering a culture of creativity, collaboration, continuous learning, and high-quality execution.
- Partner with Art Directors, Design, Engineering, and Production leaders to establish a shared vision for visual quality and ensure that creative goals can be delivered efficiently at scale.
- Drive improvements to content creation workflows, asset pipelines, and production processes that enable artists to work more effectively and consistently across the project.
- Champion visual quality across player authenticity, stadium presentation, environments, lighting, cinematics, and overall game presentation, helping teams achieve a cohesive and engaging player experience.
- Identify opportunities to improve team productivity through automation, AI-assisted workflows, new tools, and emerging content creation technologies.
- Guide teams through evolving production challenges by balancing artistic ambition, development efficiency, technical constraints, and business priorities.
- Stay current on industry trends, creative technologies, and best practices, translating new ideas into practical solutions that improve both product quality and team effectiveness.
Required Qualifications
- 8+ years of experience in game development, with experience leading art, technical art, or content production teams.
- Proven ability to drive visual quality across multiple content disciplines, including characters, environments, presentation, animation, or cinematics.
- Experience leading cross-functional initiatives involving Art, Design, Engineering, and Production teams.
- Strong understanding of modern game content creation workflows and real-time game development pipelines.
- Demonstrated ability to improve team effectiveness through workflow optimization, process improvement, or technology adoption.
- Strong communication, leadership, organizational, and stakeholder management skills.
- Proven track record of delivering high-quality products in fast-paced development environments.
- Strong learning agility and the ability to adapt to changing technologies, team structures, and product needs.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with football, sports, or live service game development.
- Passion for football and an understanding of player authenticity, broadcast presentation, and sports entertainment.
- Experience working with character scanning, motion capture, digital human workflows, lighting, rendering, or cinematic content creation.
- Familiarity with Unreal Engine, Unity, or other real-time content creation platforms.
- Experience adopting AI-assisted workflows, automation solutions, or emerging creative technologies.
- Experience leading globally distributed teams and external development partners.
