Job Description

 

The primary role of the Windows Systems Administrator is to manage and support Windows Environments both Stand alone and enterprise systems. This position focuses on day-to-day operations, troubleshooting, and maintenance of enterprise Windows environments. You will work directly with hardware and software systems to ensure high availability, security, and performance across the organization’s Windows-based ecosystem.  You will also be required to support eMASS packages artifacts and documentation supporting Authorization to Operate decisions, maintaining security and compliance with auditing functions.

Position Responsibilities

  • Tier I & II Support: Provide high-level IT support and rapid problem resolution for Windows-based workstations and servers.
  • Infrastructure Management: Manage and maintain client, server, storage, and network infrastructure within a Windows domain.
  • System Configuration: Configure, deploy, and manage Windows Server (2016/2019/2022) and Windows 10/11 environments.
  • Security & Vulnerability Management: Support vulnerability scanning and remediation using Nessus.
  • Compliance & Patching: Maintain POA&Ms (Plans of Action and Milestones) and execute systematic patching based on security and functional parameters.
  • Vendor Collaboration: Work with hardware vendors on system specifications, procurement, and lifecycle refreshes.
  • Escalation Analysis: Analyze complex technical issues and provide actionable feedback to improve system reliability.

Basic Qualifications

  • Certification: CompTIA Security+ or equivalent DoD/DoW 8570/8140 compliance certification.
  • Experience: Minimum 7+ years of dedicated system administration experience.
  • Experience working in Air-Gapped networks
  • Technical Expertise: Strong Windows troubleshooting skills, including Active Directory, Group Policy (GPO), and PowerShell scripting.
  • Compliance Knowledge: Familiarity with Nessus, POA&Ms, and NIST security requirements.
  • Environment Setup: Extensive experience configuring and hardening Windows Server and Client environments.
  • Security Clearance: An active TS/SCI DoD clearance.

Other Qualifications & Desired Competencies

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Information Systems, Computer Engineering, or a related field (or an equivalent combination of education and experience).
  • Virtualization: Experience with virtual environments (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V) and system capacity planning.
  • Communication: Ability to document technical processes and communicate effectively with stakeholders.

The salary range for this role is:

$85,500 - $121,275
