Sr. System Architect
The Work
The Sr. System Architect contributes to the design, configuration, and delivery of Pega‑based solutions that support both business and technical requirements. Under the guidance of senior architects, this role develops core application components, supports integrations, troubleshoots moderately complex issues, and ensures adherence to Pega guardrails and engineering best practices. The role collaborates closely with analysts, developers, and stakeholders to deliver scalable, maintainable solutions while continuing to grow technical depth in Pega architecture and application development.
Key Responsibilities
- Contribute to the design and configuration of Pega‑based solutions that align with business and technical requirements under guidance from senior architects
- Develop, configure, and implement Pega application components including case types, flows, activities, UI rules, and integrations
- Collaborate with business analysts, developers, and stakeholders to help define system specifications, workflows, data requirements, and integration needs
- Ensure adherence to Pega guardrails, coding standards, and software engineering best practices throughout the development lifecycle
- Provide technical support and mentorship to junior developers, escalating complex design decisions as needed
- Troubleshoot and resolve moderately complex Pega issues such as workflow logic, integration errors, and rule conflicts
- Participate in code reviews, ensuring quality, performance, maintainability, and adherence to standards
- Recommend opportunities to optimize existing Pega processes and leverage new Pega capabilities
- Support integration activities for Pega applications with enterprise systems and APIs (REST/SOAP)
- Stay current on evolving Pega tools, frameworks, and platform enhancements
Here’s What You Need:
- Bachelor’s Degree required
- 2+ years of professional experience
- Hands‑on experience with Pega application development, including case management, rule configuration, data pages, UI development, and workflow automation
- Strong foundation in software engineering and enterprise application development
- Experience using Pega PRPC, Dev Studio, App Studio, or Designer Studio
- Ability to translate business needs into scalable and maintainable system designs with direction from senior architects
- Experience building and supporting integrations between Pega and external systems via APIs, services, or connectors
- Familiarity with version control systems, Agile delivery practices, and CI/CD pipelines
- Strong analytical thinking, problem‑solving ability, and communication skills
Bonus Points If:
- Pega certifications (e.g., CSA, CSSA)
- Advanced hands‑on experience with Pega PRPC and reusable rule components
- Understanding of Pega frameworks, rule‑reuse patterns, and integration design
- Experience contributing to system architecture discussions or guiding technical teammates
- Exposure to cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP) and enterprise integration patterns
- Skills in Pega Architecture or Software Engineering

The base pay range for this position in these locations is shown below.
