Your role at a glance

The HR Compliance & Global Mobility Specialist is responsible for the management and administration of all India regional human resources compliance related programs and global mobility activities, including, but not limited to HR policies and procedures, immigration/work authorization support, relocation/assignment coordination, external reporting, training, and legislative adherence. The role will ensure fair and consistent application of HR policies and procedures by delivering exceptional resources and tools to educate staff, streamline processes, and increase compliance. The Specialist, HR Compliance & Global Mobility will serve as the subject matter expert on India regional compliance and global mobility-related matters.

What we are looking for

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  •  Responsible for creating, implementing, administering, maintaining the India HR compliance governance process. This involves building a framework for compliance and being the primary point of contact for India compliance assessments, audits and reporting requests.

  •  Partner with NTT GDC Leadership and/or NTT Data Inc. HR, Legal and/or outside counsel to design, implement and communicate policies and procedures.

  • Evaluating India policies and programs as they pertain to compliance, such as background check, human resources policies, government required compliance trainings and annual handbook reviews.

  • Manage responses to internal and external reporting requests, participate in audits, and assessments, including government reporting requirements. Ensures adherence to employment laws, regulations, and organizational policies. 

  • Provide consultative advice regarding the interpretation and application of HR policies and procedures

  • Continuously evaluate India HR compliance, processes, and policies for improvements, proactively developing and implementing practical solutions.

  • Use a data-driven approach, leveraging technology and available resources, to ensure efficiency and simplification.

  • Conduct policy reviews as part of the M&A integration processes, harmonizing policies and processes where appropriate, and partnering on communication, training, and change management initiatives with internal stakeholders.

  • Stay abreast of government employment and immigration laws and regulations, ensuring that all required postings are available to employees.

  • Ensure compliance with required training and dissemination/acknowledgement of required policies.

  • Manage India compliance services vendors, including required communication, coordination and review of proposals, changes to programs or contracts, and evaluation of services performed, escalating issues to leadership when necessary.

  • Administer end-to-end global mobility activities, including coordination of immigration/work authorization support, relocation logistics, and onboarding/offboarding steps for mobile employees.

  • Partner with internal stakeholders (HRBPs, Talent Acquisition, Total Rewards, Payroll, Legal, Finance) and external immigration counsel/relocation vendors to ensure compliant, timely case management and employee communications.

  • Maintain global mobility documentation, trackers, and audit-ready files; monitor key dates (e.g., visa/permit expirations) and support internal reporting needs related to immigration and cross-border assignments.

  • Support the development, maintenance, and communication of global mobility policies and procedures (e.g., relocation, short-/long-term assignments, remote work from another jurisdiction) in alignment with employment and immigration requirements.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Solid understanding of HR Operations, including but not limited to benefits, compensation, payroll, and HRIS.

  • High level understanding of India human resources regulations and processes, including India Labour Codes.

  • Strong knowledge of global mobility best practices, including relocation support, short-/long-term assignments, and cross-border employee lifecycle processes.

  • Ability to manage global mobility cases by coordinating with HRBP, Talent Acquisition, Payroll, Legal, and external immigration/relocation partners, while maintaining accurate documentation and trackers.

  • Developing ability to think critically, problem solve, and take an analytical approach to work with close attention to detail.

  • Ability to remain open-minded and self-confident with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.  

  • Growing knowledge of laws and regulations for each jurisdiction where employees work and reside.

  • Good interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships with peer leaders and individuals at all levels of the organization. 

  • Good oral and written communication skills.

  • Ability to be highly confidential.

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office 365 (O365), including Microsoft Teams, Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook.

  • Able to be collaborative in a team environment.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration, or related field or equivalent education and/or work experience.

  • Requires at least 5 years of experience in Human Resources with a strong background and focus in global mobility (e.g., immigration/work authorization support, relocation/assignments), policy and process development, and Human Resources Compliance programs.

  • Strong knowledge of employment and immigration laws and regulations, with practical experience in companies with an international presence.
