Job Title:
Research Senior Technician- OtolaryngologyDepartment:
Medicine | OtolaryngologyPosition Summary
The laboratory of Dr. Wieland at the Pelotonia Institute for Immuno-Oncology (PIIO) studies the immunological landscape of human papillomavirus-associated head and neck cancer. Central questions of the lab are which viral antigens are being targeted, which immune cell subsets participate in anti-tumor responses, and how they interact using predominately patient-derived specimens. The lab employs several state-of-the-art techniques to address these questions. In addition, the lab is actively engaged in the production of recombinant proteins and human monoclonal antibodies to support our own work as well as other researchers worldwide. Overall, the work of the lab is aimed to determine how anti-tumor immune responses can be harnessed for improved therapy outcomes of cancer patients.
The Wieland Lab is seeking a Research Technician 3 to provide technical and research support for ongoing projects. The successful candidate will contribute to both day-to-day laboratory operations and research activities that advance the lab’s mission.

- Conduct research experiments and projects under the supervision of the PI and/or postdoctoral fellow.
- Assist the PI with grant preparation and support senior postdoctoral researchers in ongoing projects.
- Maintain accurate records of experiments and laboratory protocols.
- Perform other duties as assigned (approximately 10%).
