Senior Construction Underwriter
Job Purpose
We are seeking an experienced Product Manager to join our team. In this role, you will turn strategy, customer needs, and stakeholder goals into clear requirements the team can build — keeping delivery teams focused on the highest-value work and ensuring everyone shares the same understanding of scope, decisions, and priorities. You will own the detailed definition of what needs to be built, bridging business and customer needs with technical execution across one or more product areas. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker who leverages data, strong relationships, and emerging AI capabilities to drive impactful outcomes and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
Product Strategy & Roadmap
Prioritize features and enhancements based on client needs, regulatory requirements, and business value
Define and maintain product backlogs with well-groomed, clearly articulated user stories and acceptance criteria
Client Engagement
Lead requirements-gathering sessions, workshops, and discovery calls with client stakeholders to capture business needs and translate them into actionable product specifications
Deliver product demonstrations and solution walkthroughs to clients, including executive audiences, showcasing new capabilities and workflow improvements
Build strong client relationships, acting as a trusted advisor who understands their servicing operations and cash management challenges
Development Collaboration
Partner closely with engineering and QA teams in an Agile environment, participating in sprint planning, backlog refinement, daily standups, and retrospectives
Write detailed functional specifications, process flows, and acceptance criteria that engineering teams can execute against with minimal ambiguity
Collaborate with architects and developers to evaluate solution options, assess trade-offs, and make informed product decisions
Assist with UAT (User Acceptance Testing) with clients, coordinating feedback and sign-off prior to release
Cash Domain Expertise
Apply hands-on knowledge of mortgage cash operations including payment application hierarchies, suspense management, curtailments, payoff quotes, wire processing, and investor remittance
Identify and address gaps in cash reconciliation, exception handling, and audit trail capabilities
Required Qualifications
5+ years of product management experience, with at least 3 years in mortgage servicing
Demonstrated expertise in cash management, payment processing, or financial operations within a servicing or loan administration environment
Proven track record of client-facing work — conducting requirements sessions, delivering demos, and managing stakeholder expectations
Strong collaboration skills with software development teams; experience working in Agile/Scrum methodologies
Ability to write clear, detailed user stories and functional specifications
Excellent communication skills — able to translate technical concepts for business audiences and business requirements for technical teams
Familiarity with servicing platforms (e.g., Black Knight MSP, ICE Mortgage Technology, Sagent, or similar)
Preferred Qualifications
Exposure to CFPB regulations, GSE guidelines, and state-specific servicing compliance requirements
Background in business analysis or implementation consulting within fintech or mortgage technology
Experience with product tools such as ADO
