Job Summary
The Lead, Procurement is responsible for overseeing and managing the end-to-end procurement process for a network of hospitals and healthcare centers. This role ensures the timely and cost-effective acquisition of medical supplies, equipment, and services while maintaining compliance with regulatory and organizational standards. By collaborating with hospital leadership and department managers, the Lead, Procurement will implement strategies that optimize supply chain operations, enhance vendor relationships, and support the organization’s mission of delivering high-quality healthcare. The role plays a critical part in driving operational efficiency and ensuring the availability of essential resources to meet patient care needs.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement procurement strategies to secure high-quality medical supplies, equipment, and services at competitive prices.
- Oversee the entire procurement lifecycle, including sourcing, negotiation, contracting, and vendor management, to ensure seamless operations across all facilities.
- Ensure compliance with statutory regulations, organizational policies, and ethical standards in all procurement activities.
- Analyze procurement data and market trends to identify cost-saving opportunities and improve supply chain efficiency.
- Lead cross-functional teams to align procurement activities with organizational goals, fostering transparency and accountability.
- 6-10 years of experience in procurement, preferably within the healthcare or public sector.
- Bachelor’s degree (BSc) in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field; a Master’s degree (MSc) is an advantage.
- Professional certification such as CIPS (Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply) or equivalent.
- Strong knowledge of procurement laws, healthcare supply chain dynamics, and best practices in vendor management.
- Exceptional leadership, negotiation, analytical, and organizational skills.
- Must be a resident of Imo State or open to relocation.
