The Land Care Buyer II independently manages assigned markets, contracts, and vendor relationships within the Land Care Program. This role is responsible for sourcing, contract management, vendor performance, operational support, and implementation of strategic land care initiatives that enhance cemetery appearance, operational efficiency, and customer experience. Additionally, this role serves as a trusted business partner to field leadership while supporting a multimillion-dollar land care services portfolio through data-driven decision making, supplier management, and continuous improvement initiatives.JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop an understanding of cemetery maintenance standards, regional operating conditions, and land care best practices to support informed business decisions and operational recommendations.
- Manage assigned market and vendor portfolios.
- Lead RFQs, supplier evaluations, and contract negotiations.
- Monitor vendor performance, service quality, and compliance.
- Support market leadership with land care program execution and issue resolution.
- Conduct site assessments and identify operational improvement opportunities.
- Develop cost savings and cost avoidance initiatives.
- Support forecasting, budgeting, and financial planning activities.
- Implement approved program initiatives and technology solutions.
- Analyze operational and financial data to identify trends and recommendations.
- Develop and communicate best practices across assigned markets.
- Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders and vendor partners.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Education
- Bachelor Degree in Business, Supply Chain, Finance, Operations, or a related field.
Experience
- A minimum of 3 years of procurement, sourcing, vendor management, operations, project management, or related experience
- Experience negotiating contracts and managing supplier relationships.
- Experience presenting recommendations and influencing stakeholders across multiple levels of an organization.
- Experience supporting service-based contracts.
- Experience working with geographically dispersed operations.
- Experience supporting facilities management, landscaping, grounds maintenance, land care, property maintenance, or other service-based operational environments preferred.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills.
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including the ability to organize, analyze, and interpret operational and financial data.
- Experience using formulas, pivot tables, lookup functions, and reporting tools preferred.
- Ability to identify trends, develop insights, and make data-driven recommendations.
- Experience working with dashboards, business reporting tools, or similar technologies.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and virtual collaboration tools.
- Ability to leverage AI-enabled productivity tools and emerging technologies to improve efficiency, reporting, communication, and decision-making.
- Ability to work independently with moderate supervision.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to evaluate operational, environmental, labor, and market conditions and incorporate findings into sourcing strategies, supplier management decisions, and program recommendations.
- Ability to leverage AI-enabled tools and emerging technologies to improve efficiency, enhance decision-making, analyze data, automate routine tasks, and support business objectives.
- Ability to travel as needed
