Junior Commercial Analyst

Support the Finance and Product teams by providing clear insights into commercial gross performance and supplier performance, helping to improve profitability. The role focuses on helping the teams understand the performance drivers, accurate tracking of commercial income, mitigating risks and securing cash.

In addition, the role will support project-based work across the product function, providing analysis, insight, and financial input to help deliver key business initiatives. 

Role Responsibilities 

  • Ensuring full understanding and providing regular analysis on margin performance, including sales variances, promotional and margin investments
  • Ensuring accuracy of the reporting of commercial income
  • Ensuring supplier invoicing is raised in a timely manner
  • Supporting the Commercial Finance Manager with providing periodic performance updates to the product team
  • Understanding variances on key income streams and in supplier performance, highlighting risks and opportunities.
  • Evaluating supplier terms agreements
  • Support project-based work where required
  • Fully support and assist the wider finance team in ensuring controls on processes
  • Any other duties as reasonably required to fulfil your responsibilities.

Technical / Professional 

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify risks and opportunities, and to deliver accurate commercial insight
  • A strong understanding of margin performance, commercial income and supplier terms agreements
  • Experience in managing or supporting financial reporting
  • Ability to support and influence decision-making
  • Commitment to high standards of documentation, compliance, and adherence to GSCOP and audit requirements
