How you'll make an impact in this role
- Lead and integrate cross-functional clinical operations across capacity management/throughput, contract services, and specialized clinical teams (including vascular access, wound care, and infusion) to ensure seamless, high-quality patient transitions and care delivery.
- Direct daily workflows and resource allocation for your assigned nursing areas, empowering front-line staff to deliver exceptional, safe, and efficient patient care.
- Shape departmental goals and clinical standards that align with legal, ethical, and organizational benchmarks, driving continuous improvement in patient assessment and care planning.
- Champion workforce development and staffing initiatives by overseeing the full talent lifecycle—including hiring, intentional onboarding, performance evaluation, and continuing education—to build a highly skilled, engaged nursing team.
- Manage fiscal health and regulatory readiness by proactively monitoring departmental budgets and leading audit responses, ensuring the continuous, compliant operation of your units.
What minimum qualifications you'll need
Licensure / Certification / Registration:
- Licensed Registered Nurse credentialed from the Kansas Board of Nursing required.
- BLS Provider credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) preferred.
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in nursing or diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing required.
- Master's degree or combination of Bachelor's degree and experience preferred.
Work Experience:
- 5 years of experience required.
- 10 years of experience preferred.
- 2 years of leadership or management experience required.
- 5 years of leadership or management experience preferred.
What additional requirements you'll need
- Acute care leadership: Proven experience leading as a Director of Nursing, DON, or RN Director within an acute care hospital environment.
- Resource management expertise: Specialized experience in throughput, staffing, labor management, and scheduling, specifically overseeing complex areas like float pools, house supervisors, or contingent staff.
