Housekeeping Laundry Attendant
The Laundry Attendant’s primary responsibility is to transfer linen inventory from the linen receiving room to the linen storage rooms.
Responsibilities
Operates equipment, including vacuum cleaners, radio, phone, mop, and broom.
Ability to push up to 50 pounds daily for the duration of shift.
Ensures linen supply levels are accurate.
Operate washer and dryer machines and sort linens.
Ensure delivery of clean linen and towels to guests.
Sorting, assembling, wrapping linen packs and restocking as needed.
Track linen usage.
Moves items from storage carts to shelves and transports them to area for restocking.
Observes safety rules and regulations. Answers guest questions.
Checking for stains and damage, and removing damaged items from service
Maintaining linen closets and room attendant carts with supplies and linens
Reporting maintenance issues and errors to management
Conducting linen inventories
Adhering to company policies, such as housekeeping policies and lost and found procedures.
Maintaining a clean and safe working environment, and following safety policies and procedures
Transports Linen from Loading Dock to Housekeeping Laundry Depot
Delivers towels to Spa, Gym daily.
Maintaining infection control standards in the laundry area
Ensure the Linen is sorted and counted prior to linen pick up daily.
Maintains inventory of Laundry Supplies and create weekly Supply Purchase Sheet
Ensures laundry is safely Stored.
Restocks Closets
Processes linen from Spa as needed.
Additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
HS diploma or GED.
Casino/Hotel experience preferred.
Experience within an upscale hotel preferred.
Work requires a minimum of 6 months’ experience.
Prior experience as a Room Attendant preferred but not required.
Must have schedule flexibility including evenings, weekends, holiday shifts and overtime, as needed.
Ability to plan, organize, and complete work; take initiative logically and independently.
Must be able to get along well with co-workers. Possess well-developed interpersonal skills
Ability to maintain a consistent pace throughout the shift.
Receive instructions and hear inquiries from guests, clients, or staff.
Ability to remain alert throughout the shift and calm during emergency situations.
Ability to uphold and demonstrate the highest level of integrity in all situations and recognize standards required by a regulated business.
Wage: $16.25 per hour
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Ability to bend, stoop or kneel; climb, ascend and descend stairs; maintain equilibrium for a long time.
Work requires ability to work from a standing position for extended periods of time.
Must be able to lift and carry upwards to 25 pounds.
Must be able to bend, reach, kneel, twist and grip items while working at assigned desk area.
Handle sensitive situations relating to staff and guest problems, in a timely manner
Read, write, speak, and understand English.
Operate in mentally and physically stressful situations.
Respond to visual and aural cues
Work in cold & hot temperatures
Possibly be exposed to secondhand smoke
