We have an opportunity for a Healthcare Assistant to join their team of staff in the Theatre department.
This is a full- time role for 37.5 hours a week. The role holder will be required to cover a flexible shift pattern.
Duties of this role include:
- Assist in the safe transfer and positioning of patients before, during, and after surgical procedures.
- Provide reassurance and emotional support to patients before anaesthesia and throughout the perioperative pathway.
- Prepare patients for surgery, including gowning, documentation checks, and ensuring correct identification.
- Assist in receiving patients into theatre recovery and support monitoring under supervision.
- Help escort patients to and from theatre areas, wards, and recovery.
- Support with patient dignity, privacy, and comfort at all times.
- Assist with basic patient observations and report any concerns promptly to registered staff.
Applicants should meet the following criteria:
Previous experience in a care or health support role (hospital, care home, community, or domiciliary).
Good communication and interpersonal skills with a caring, compassionate attitude.
Ability to follow instructions and escalate concerns appropriately.
Basic literacy, numeracy, and IT skills.
Physically able to undertake duties including moving and handling tasks.
NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Health and Social Care (or equivalent qualification) desirable.
Knowledge of safeguarding, infection control, and confidentiality procedures.
