We have an opportunity for a Healthcare Assistant to join their team of staff in the Theatre department.

This is a full- time role for 37.5 hours a week. The role holder will be required to cover a flexible shift pattern.

Duties of this role include:

Assist in the safe transfer and positioning of patients before, during, and after surgical procedures.
Provide reassurance and emotional support to patients before anaesthesia and throughout the perioperative pathway.
Prepare patients for surgery, including gowning, documentation checks, and ensuring correct identification.
Assist in receiving patients into theatre recovery and support monitoring under supervision.
Help escort patients to and from theatre areas, wards, and recovery.
Support with patient dignity, privacy, and comfort at all times.
Assist with basic patient observations and report any concerns promptly to registered staff.

Applicants should meet the following criteria:

Previous experience in a care or health support role (hospital, care home, community, or domiciliary).
Good communication and interpersonal skills with a caring, compassionate attitude.
Ability to follow instructions and escalate concerns appropriately.
Basic literacy, numeracy, and IT skills.
Physically able to undertake duties including moving and handling tasks.
NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Health and Social Care (or equivalent qualification) desirable.
Knowledge of safeguarding, infection control, and confidentiality procedures.
