About the Team

Our Financial & ESG Reporting team, which forms part of the wider Global Reporting team, is looking for a Financial & ESG Reporting Specialist with experience in the payments and/or finance industry and a passion for financial technology automation. The Financial & ESG reporting team is responsible for financial and sustainability (ESG) reporting. As Adyen grows, so does the complexity of accounting and reporting. We are looking for an enthusiastic team member to help us navigate this constantly evolving landscape by leveraging modern AI tools, data automation, and scalable systems.

About the Role

As a Financial & ESG Reporting Specialist, you will be primarily responsible for ensuring compliance with applicable accounting standards, preparation of Adyen’s Financial Statements, and working closely with teams across the business. Although Financial reporting will be your key focus, you will be expected to think beyond traditional manual workflows. You will actively champion the automation of data pipelines and support the team across ESG and Regulatory reporting topics on an ad-hoc basis.

The successful candidate will play a central role in the Group Finance team, working as a strategic business partner with a wide range of teams—including Group Finance, Enterprise Risk, Legal, and Compliance—to provide pragmatic advice and drive transformation.

What You’ll Do

• Financial & ESG Reporting: Lead the preparation of quarterly, half, and full-year financial statements in accordance with IFRS, while actively identifying opportunities to automate processes and data aggregation.
• Process Automation: Coordinate, prepare, and optimize Adyen’s monthly management reporting processes, creating scalable, automated dashboards.
• Cross-Over Frameworks: Support cross-over financial and ESG topics.
• New Product Integration: Translate the impact of complex transactions and new products into financial and ESG reporting, working cross-functionally to embed automated accounting rules into our core systems from day one.
• Regulatory Horizon Scanning: Monitor changes in accounting standards (IFRS) and ESG regulations, and partner with other functions the implementation and monitoring of these changes.
• Business Partnership: Strengthen connections between the business and the reporting team, understanding how expansion impacts our data models and supporting business growth through tech-driven regulatory strategy.

Who You Are

• Qualified Expert: You have between 4-5 years' experience in accounting/audit/financial reporting functions with an ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CA(SA) qualification or equivalent.
• Tech-Savvy & Innovative: You have a strong interest or proven experience in financial transformation, Python/SQL for finance, data visualization tools (e.g., Looker, Tableau), or prompting/implementing AI tools to drive efficiency.
• Comfortable with Ambiguity: You thrive in unstructured environments and take initiative. Navigating ambiguity comes naturally, and you bring a thoughtful approach to shaping processes and building automated workflows where clarity is needed.
• Direct communicator: You are comfortable challenging the status quo, specifically regarding outdated workflows, with the ability to interact effectively with a variety of internal and external stakeholders across different seniorities and cultures.
• Self-Driven: You possess excellent project management skills and are always searching for ways to translate complex reporting requirements into scalable, automated solutions from Adyen’s perspective.
• Industry Plus: Previous experience in the banking, fintech, or payments industry is a strong plus.
