Finance Controller AMEWA
ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Budget controlling:
- Submit actuals/forecasts to corporate management through the update of magnitude reporting tool as part of monthly reporting of accounting results
- Support in the consolidation of the annual multi-year budget for Thales AMEWA region
- Assist in the preparation of country and function budgets for AMEWA
- Assist in reinforcement and monitoring of accounting and compliance internal controls
- Prepare ad hoc costs analyses as needed by finance internally and by other departments
- Issue monthly intercompany invoices received related to recharge of other miscellaneous costs
- Managing the closing tasks for some countries within AMEWA scope, including posting entries (actuals & provisions) monitoring the level of actuals vs Budget/Forecast.
- Monitoring intercompany recharges
Accounting and statutory reporting:
- Support the preparation of audit schedules and balance confirmations for annual statutory audit, including overall analytical review of variance for FS line items and notes and support in the preparation of annual financial statements for 6 legal entities (AMEWA)
- Discuss with the team during monthly meetings for cash flows, accruals/provisions, receivables/doubtful debts, foreign exchange impact and other ad hoc meetings
- Review and reconcile employee-related balance sheet accounts to clear long-outstanding balances on a quarterly basis
- Support regional treasury manager in the follow-up of intercompany receivables
- Contribute to the closing of accounting books in coordination with Thales AMEWA chief accountant
- Collaborate with the team in checking the bi-monthly payment proposal
- Ensure compliance with IFRS in both accounting & reporting
Internal control and processes improvement:
- Perform Monthly and Yearly Audit controls
- Execute on quarterly process improvement and update SOP documentation
VAT & Tax filling & declaration:
- Providing VAT reports including analysis to be submitted to local authorities.
- Ensuring Tax filling and payments are processed within the due deadlines
WORK EXPERIENCE
- 5 to 10 years of relevant work experience in similar positions
- Knowledge of IFRS is a must
- Prior experience managing budgets, conducting in-depth financial analysis and submitting recommendations for consideration is preferred
QUALIFICATION, CERTIFICATION & EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor degree in Accounting / Audit or corporate Finance (mandatory)
- Master degree in Accounting / Audit or corporate Finance (preferred)
- Chartered accountancy qualification and/or IFRS diploma (preferred)
