Job Summary
Southern Industrial Constructors seeks a Shipping and Receiving Supervisor for an on-going site in the Wilmington, NC area - the site has access to customer cafeteria and food services and is in a controlled environment.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Coordinate and supervise activities of workers to effectively and efficiently manage Shipping and Receiving, Material Handling, and Inventory Control.
· Interpret company policies to workers and enforce safety regulations.
Detect, recognize and respond appropriately to dangerous conditions or situations.
· Analyze and resolve work problems.
· Establish and adjust work sequences to meet schedule, using knowledge of capacities of equipment and assigned personnel.
· Maintain accurate employee time records and input daily as required.
· Perform frequent safety inspections of work areas, TSP’s, equipment, tools, and employees in accordance with SIC policy to ensure compliance with government regulations, customer requirements, and SIC’s safety program.
· Lead or facilitate weekly Toolbox Safety Meetings with crew.
· Complete all Safety, Supervisor, and general job training as required by SIC.
· Effectively manage shipping personnel to maximize productivity and efficiency.
· Audit shipping operations to ensure personnel are following safety and operations procedures properly and effectively.
· Perform other duties as required.
- Work directly with GE Shipping Managers to prioritize weekly parts schedule
Qualifications
Forklift operating and box truck driving experience is required.
Physical Demands
Conditions include working in office, shop, busy traffic areas, freezers, and warehouses, with frequent exposure to dirt, dust, grease, oil, vibrations, and adverse weather conditions. Must be able to safely access all areas of property and buildings
May be required to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds
Must be able to move in and around confided spaces and uneven areas
Must be able to adequately hear and respond to voice commands and alerts from other employees, alarms and other job-related noises
Must be able to safely access all areas of property and buildings
Must be able to effectively use all required PPE equipment
Strenuous physical demands are required to safely perform the essential functions associated with this position
Must be able to safely operate all involved equipment and tools
Must be capable of standing for long periods of time, bending consistently, working on ladders, and in awkward body positions
