As an Authorsing Engineer your role is to lead and manage the delivery of electrical compliance across the business, ensuring adherence to statutory requirements, company policies, and industry best practice while providing technical assurance, governance, and risk management to support a safe and reliable operational environment.
About the Role
Act as the Authorising Engineer (AE) for LV and HV systems on behalf of RME & PFSL, supporting the Duty Holder by ensuring compliance, managing the appointment and competence of Authorised and Competent Persons, providing technical assurance and expert guidance, maintaining accreditation and training standards, auditing supply chain compliance, driving best practice and continuous improvement through industry engagement, and participating in the on-call rota.
Royal Mail are proud of our diverse employee network groups and the active role they play to support belonging and encourage a positive work environment. We are firmly committed to inclusion and passionate about our people representing the communities we serve.
This is a national role and can be based from any UK location; however, the successful candidate must be fully mobile and willing to travel regularly to Royal Mail sites, major operational hubs, supplier locations, and other business locations across the UK as required. The role is primarily site-based, requiring close collaboration with operational and engineering teams, although there may be opportunities for occasional remote working where business needs permit.
Experience
• Leadership of, or involvement in, a compliance-driven business support function.
• Previous experience of managing hard FM and soft FM operation or function.
• Demonstrable experience in developing and delivering effective stakeholder business plans.
• Demonstrable experience of fostering a positive IR environment through proactive relationships.
• Demonstrable experience of sponsoring, embracing, and managing high-value and complex technical and business change projects, including identifying and delivering innovative solutions outside of the normal remit.
Qualifications
• Degree, HND, or similar, or working towards.
• Must have up-to-date accreditations in two or more disciplines relating to Building Services, i.e., mechanical/electrical/gas/HVAC/fire/security.
• Membership of a minimum of one relevant professional body.
We are happy to support your need for any adjustments during the application and hiring process. Please share the details within your application if required.
