Job Description
Compliance Specialist – Key responsibilities
The Compliance Specialist will support, among others, the following activities:
• Review and analyse product safety and environmental legislation, directives, standards, and upcoming regulatory changes that may affect TEL’s business
(e.g. Machinery Directive, EMC Directive, REACH, CLP, WEEE, UK product legislation).
• Monitor differences in how EU and UK regulations are implemented at national level.
• Assess regulatory risks and their potential impact on TEL business and operations.
• Prepare clear reports and recommendations for senior management.
• Work with TEE departments and TEL corporate product teams to identify practical and compliant business solutions.
• Support sales and service teams with regulatory questions from customers, and join customer meetings where needed.
Advocacy Specialist – Key responsibilities
The Advocacy Specialist will support, among others, the following activities:
• Work with TEL’s Global Advocacy team to assess the impact of proposed product related legislation.
• Help develop alternative proposals, position papers, or amendments.
• Support public consultations and stakeholder responses.
• Participate in industry association working groups and support engagement with regulators.
Your skills and experience
• University degree required
• PhD is an advantage
Essential skills
• Ability to read, understand, and explain legislation, standards, and regulatory texts
• Experience in compliance, risk management, or regulated environments
• Ability to prepare clear and convincing technical arguments
• Strong attention to detail
• Improvement oriented and structured way of working
Preferred skills
• Background in engineering or chemistry
• Experience with compliance requirements for large industrial or electromechanical equipment
• Knowledge of EU chemicals legislation (especially REACH, POPs)
• Experience in highly regulated industries (e.g. aerospace, nuclear, automotive)
• Experience with advocacy or regulatory engagement is an advantage
• Good working knowledge of MS Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint)

Fluent English (spoken and written) is essential.

Individual pay is determined based on multiple factors, including but not limited to location, experience, skills, job-related knowledge, relevant education, certifications, and/or training. In addition to base salary, we offer (full time regular employees ) a comprehensive benefits package and for certain roles eligibility in our bonus plan and long-term incentives as applicable.
