Job Purpose

To support the Collections Manager and engage members in communication to resolve outstanding delinquent accounts and minimizelosses to Honda FCU and its members while maintaining a high level of member service and professionalism when dealing with difficult and sensitive situations.

Key Accountabilities

  • Loan loss prevention and recovery
  • Specialty collection tasks 1 ) bankruptcy 2) foreclosure 3 ) modifications 4) repossession 5 ) fraud reviews/filings 6) Regulation response/strategy
  • Review and update credit bureaus, mobile deposits, returned checks, deposit fraud, and Service Members Civil Relief Act
  • Writing accurate and concise notes and documentation in appropriate collection system
  • Ongoing education and training for self and department training/cross-training
  • Assist department manager with reports, projects, software/system administration and team updates
  • Oversee department daily job duties and assigns and reviews completed work

Qualifications, Experience, and Skills

  • High school diploma or general education degree
  • Two years’ experience in a credit union or collections environment
  • Working knowledge of state and federal collection laws and procedures
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
  • Reasoning ability to solve problems
  • Member service and communication skills
  • Negotiation skills
  • Ability to train, support, and motivate teams in a one-on-one or group setting
