Job Summary
SummaryThis position offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on research experience in partnership with healthcare providers, student-athletes, and researchers. Understanding when a student-athlete is ready to return to play after concussion is an important decision, because of the risk of repeat injury and prolonged recovery that may result from premature return to play. Dr. O'Neil was awarded a grant to determine if a new dynamic, exertion test helps healthcare providers with return to play decision making after concussion. The Clinical Assessment of Sports and Physical Exertion (CASE) is a sub-maximal exercise test that assesses a student-athlete's ability to handle dynamic and multidirectional movements after concussion. As a Clinical Research Coordinator, you will be working directly with healthcare providers at a local high school to administer the CASE to student-athletes recovering from concussion. You will also play a key role in participant recruitment, screening, enrollment, and informed consent; scheduling and coordinating study visits; data collection; regulatory and IRB-related activities; and participant remuneration.
