YOUR ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES

The Business Unit (BU) Manager is responsible for driving profitable growth of the Nutrition BU distribution business in Indonesia. This position plays a key role in expanding market presence, supplier management, strengthening customer relationships, and ensuring sustainable business performance.

Key responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute annual business plans to achieve revenue, margin, and volume targets across assigned chemical portfolios
  • Identify and develop new market opportunities, industries, and applications in Indonesia
  • Lead price strategy, contract negotiations, and commercial terms with customers and principals
  • Manage sales pipeline, forecasting, and budgeting with accuracy and discipline
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers.
  • Act as the primary interface with Suppliers
  • Conduct regular business reviews with principals and key accounts to track performance and growth opportunities
  • Ensure alignment between principal strategies and local market execution
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and pricing dynamics
  • Provide insights on product positioning, portfolio optimization, and potential new product introductions
  • Support go-to-market strategies for new principals or product lines
  • Collaborate with supply chain, finance, regulatory, and technical teams to ensure seamless execution
  • Ensure effective inventory planning and working capital management
  • Other duties as assigned by the manager
     

YOUR PROFILE

  • Tertiary qualified in an industry related discipline (science/chemistry)
  • 10 + years B2B sales experience in a Food/Raw Ingredients related commercial/sales role with at least 3 years in the managerial position
  • Proven track record in sales leadership, business management, or commercial management
  • Strong understanding of the Indonesian chemical market and regulatory environment
  • Strong commercial and strategic thinking
  • Results-driven, resilient, and customer-focused
  • Excellent negotiation and influencing skills
  • Technically sound in Food & Nutrition discipline with the ability to demonstrate and communicate the value proposition of nutrition/raw ingredient products
  • Possess excellent verbal, written, analytical, presentation, organizational and negotiation skills. Naturally possess integrity, excellent attitudes, reliability, and the agility to solve complex problem and collaborate with stakeholders to achieve organizational goal.
