Hourly Pay Range:

$38.16 - $59.15 - The hourly pay rate offered is determined by a candidate's expertise and years of experience, among other factors.

Position Highlights:

  • Position: Registered Nurse- Certified Wound/ Ostomy

  • Location: Northwest Community Hospital - Arlington Heights, IL

  • 40 hours every 2 weeks

  • Shift: Days

  • Hours: generally, 8:00am-4:30pm with some flexibility required as needed

  • Status: non Exempt

  • Required Travel: No

What you will do:

  • Will work in both inpatient and outpatient areas as needed

  • Serves as an expert resource to staff for patients and families with complex physical and/or psychological problems and acts as a resource for high-tech procedures and equipment.  Demonstrates the expertise and ability to deliver quality nursing care within her specialty.  These may include activities such as central line consultation, wound care, Code Blue Team membership, IV consultation, or specialty area specific skills and procedures.

  • Collaborates in a multi-disciplinary approach to plan and deliver patient care and maintains peer relationships that demonstrate support, cost-effective quality patient care, and outcome centered interactions.  Involves family/guardian in plan of car and conducts patient and family education, as appropriate, considering the developmental level of the patient.

  • Serves as a role model for staff in clinical practice; demonstrates leadership in clinical decision-making.  Provides clinical support for the patient in crisis.

  • Will work as needed across the inpatient and outpatient areas of care

  • Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to assess, treat, and care for all age groups of patients; implements assessment, treatment, and care based on the developmental stages of the patient.

  • Interprets and implements procedures, policies, and nursing care objectives to patients, families, and caregivers.  Participates in creation and evaluation of standards for clinical practice.

  • Identifies learning needs of staff and orientees.  Provides in-services and unit instruction to staff to upgrade their skills and competency.  Collaborates with Nursing Educators regarding staff’s learning needs and development of clinical learning experiences.

  • Works with preceptors and orientees.  Assists preceptor in evaluating orientees’ progress; provides feedback to preceptor and orientee; set goals; evaluates the orientation process and provides feedback to unit educators.  Provides assessment of orientation process to ensure staff’s success in completing orientation.

  • Adheres to all Northwest Community Hospital standards, policies, and procedures.

What you will need:

  • Graduate of an approved School of Nursing, Bachelors Degree of Science or Nursing degree required.

  • Licensure to practice Nursing in the state of Illinois.

  • Wound Care Certification

  • Minimum of four years clinical experience in medical/surgical nursing; prefer experience in critical care nursing.

  • Current CPR certification.
