Associate / Senior Associate, Specialist, Product Control & Business Finance (Global Financial Markets), Group Finance

Group Finance aims to deliver world-class standards in reporting, financial planning and finance processes. We provide insights and analyses that help the bank make sound business decisions – whether in the areas of product development or customer profitability. We also provide capital management, business planning, forecasting, and tax and accounting advisory services.

The Associate / Senior Associate of the GFM Product Control (PC) team will be expected to perform the following roles and responsibilities:

Key Accountabilities

Perform the following Daily production tasks:

• Daily PL report production and PL attribution & analysis
• Daily commentary on significant PL movement and relating it to the business strategies of the desks
• Monitoring New Deals, Late Deals and Market Operations.
• Monitoring checks on transactions done at Off Market rates.
• Exceptions monitoring on Reported PL vs Trader Estimates and breaches on threshold limits for unexplained PL attributions
• Partnering with Front Office, Finance, Risk (RMG), Operations, and IT teams to assess and resolve deal-related discrepancies and ensure accurate reflection in reporting systems
• Manage multi-location oversight covering Asia hubs ensuring consistency in controls and reporting

Assist the team manager in performing some of the following Monthly routine tasks:

• Monthly preparation of reserves
• Monthly reporting of MIS segment numbers
• Review reconciliation of PL between Management reporting vs General Ledger done by location Finance
• Monthly commentaries on the significant month to date PL drivers

Assist the team manager and team in performing the following Ad-Hoc & Projects tasks:

• Streamline workflows to enhance operational efficiency within the team
• Review control processes for gaps
• To be proficient in handling ad-hoc queries from Front Office/Risk Management Group/Operations/Group Finance
• Actively participate in systems implementation/enhancement projects User Acceptance Testing (UAT) testing

Requirements

• Degree holder
• Minimum 3-5years experience in Banking Finance, Audit or Product Control function
• Meticulous with strong control awareness and inquisitive mindset
• Knowledge of Treasury products, derivatives and options.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Microsoft Excel
• Proficient knowledge in data analytics and data mining would be advantageous
• Familiar with AI tools such as Copilot and Claude Cowork
• Ability to relate product control processes with the business strategies and activities of the desk
• Strong team player
