Creating an account and building your profile is free. AI-powered features (improving your resume, tailoring for specific jobs, translating, exports) use a pay-as-you-go coin model — you buy coins and spend them on what you need. Do I need to upload an existing resume to get started?

No. You have two options: upload a resume (PDF, DOCX) and ResumeGeni will parse it into a structured profile, or build your profile from scratch with a guided form. Either way takes about 10 minutes. The profile you create is the foundation every AI feature works from.

How long does it take to set up?

About 10 minutes for a complete profile if you already have a resume to upload, or 15-20 minutes to build from scratch with the guided form. You only do this once — after that, every resume you generate (general improvements, job-specific tailoring, translations) reuses the same profile.

What file formats does ResumeGeni support?

ResumeGeni imports PDF and DOCX resumes. For output, you can export to PDF (with selectable text — what ATS systems need) or DOCX. Both formats are ATS-compatible and use clean, single-column layouts that parse correctly across applicant tracking systems.

Is my resume data safe?

Your profile data is yours. ResumeGeni doesn't sell resume content, use it to train models, or expose it to other users. You control what's in your profile and can delete your account at any time — which removes your data from our systems per GDPR export/delete rights. Passwords are hashed; sessions use secure cookies.

What can I do with ResumeGeni after signing up?
