We are looking for a hands-on Techniker Optik & Photonik (m/w/d) to support the assembly, testing, and troubleshooting of optical and photonics systems within our Optical Measurement Systems Manufacturing team. This role is based in a lab and manufacturing environment, working closely with engineering and production teams.

 

You will contribute to building and validating prototypes and initial product samples, ensuring quality, reliability, and a smooth transition into production.

 


Responsibilities


What you will do

Assembly & Manufacturing

  • Assemble optical, photonics, and high‑frequency components and subassemblies
  • Build prototypes and initial samples according to engineering specifications
  • Set up and operate high‑precision manufacturing tooling and machinery

Testing & Measurement

  • Test and verify performance of optical assemblies and prototypes
  • Operate measurement equipment and follow defined manufacturing procedures
  • Document results to ensure repeatability and compliance with quality standards

Troubleshooting & NPI Support

  • Perform basic failure analysis on optical and electronic components
  • Identify issues during prototype builds and support root-cause investigations
  • Work closely with engineers during NPI (New Product Introduction) activities

Production Collaboration

  • Provide hands-on support to production teams
  • Help train operators on new processes and manufacturing steps
  • Contribute to improving manufacturability, workflows, and process efficiency

Qualifications


Required

  • Completed Technician qualification (e.g., Techniker/in in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Photonics, Precision Engineering, or similar)
  • Hands-on experience in testing, measurement, electronics assembly, or optical/laser systems
  • Basic knowledge of:
    • Manufacturing processes and process automation
    • Machinery operation and programming
    • Optical components
  • Practical, proactive, and hands-on mindset
  • Strong communication skills and willingness to collaborate with engineering and manufacturing teams

German or English (mandatory)
