Who will you be working with?
Wabtec employees at the Germantown location operate in a team environment in the digital electronic and component field of creating productive and reliable transportation. Our Wabtec Germantown facility includes highly sophisticated production processes that integrate advanced manufacturing technologies with precision assembly techniques. Team members collaborate across engineering, production, and quality assurance functions to deliver innovative products that meet the evolving demands on the transportation industry.
How will you make a difference?
As a technician II, you will be responsible for functional testing, troubleshooting, and quality verification of electronic products at both sub-assembly and final assembly levels. This position requires intermediate to advanced diagnostic abilities to identify component level failures and determine root causes of product issues, implementing appropriate corrective action to resolve problems. The position requires the employee to be on-site during the scheduled shift to perform daily duties and responsibilities.

Monday – Friday, 7:00am – 3:30pm
What do we want to know about you?
Preferred associate’s degree in electronic technology, equivalent certification(s) or work/military experience or high school graduate.
Three (3) to five (5) years’ experience in an electronic manufacturing environment as a bench technician, troubleshooting and repairing electronic assemblies to the component level.
Intermediate knowledge of electronics, electronic assembly testing procedures, common test equipment, i.e., oscilloscopes, multi-meters, signal/function generators, frequency counters, etc.
Good working knowledge of stand-alone testing of electronic boards and experience with testing pneumatics.
Proficient knowledge utilizing HyperTerminal, Pro-comm, or Tera Term software.
Familiarity with Microsoft OS, Windows XP through 10.
What will your typical day look like?
Perform and conduct functional tests on products at sub-assembly and final assembly level per written test procedures, verify current revision level of products, and visually inspect products for appearance and workmanship prior to final turn in.
Troubleshoot failed products and subassemblies to the component level, systematically identifying root causes and applying preventative measures to resolve issues and mitigate future product failures.
Locate and interpret product documents, including schematic drawings, to accurately execute assembly tasks.
Ability to communicate effectively, follow written and verbal instructions, demonstrate math and reading skills, work with no supervision, and respond positively to feedback.
Implement changes in process and procedure as needed, while responding positively to feedback.
Complete daily schedules based on productivity levels assigned by supervisor(s).
Demonstrate commitment to workplace safety by wearing required PPE and maintaining a clean, organized work environment that adheres to 5S protocol standards.
Perform other duties as assigned.

The employee will normally work in a temperature-controlled office environment, with frequent exposure to electric tools, occasional loud noises and possible exposure to fumes.

The actual salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors, such as: training, transferable skills, work experience, education, business needs, market demands and work location.
