About the Role
We are seeking a ServiceNow Architect to define the platform strategy, drive solution architecture, and guide multi-module implementations across the ServiceNow ecosystem. Youll partner with business owners, product managers, developers, and security to design scalable solutions aligned to best practices, the Common Service Data Model (CSDM), and enterprise architecture standards. This role blends hands-on technical leadership with governance, roadmap planning, and stakeholder influence.
Key Responsibilities
Platform Strategy & Governance
- Own the ServiceNow architectural blueprint, standards, and guardrails across instances and products.
- Establish and lead governance for demand intake, design reviews, customization controls, and release management.
- Align solutions to CSDM and CMDB strategy; ensure data model consistency and lifecycle governance.
Solution Architecture & Design
- Translate business capabilities into ServiceNow solutions using outofthebox features first; limit technical debt.
- Produce architecture artifacts: context/solution diagrams, data models, integration patterns, security models, and sequence flows.
- Design endtoend solutions across ITSM, ITOM (Discovery/Service Mapping), ITAM (SAM/HAM), CSM, HRSD, SPM, SecOps/IRM, and Platform apps (App Engine/Creator).
Integration & Data
- Define integration architecture using IntegrationHub, REST/SOAP APIs, webhooks, MID Server, SSO/SAML/OAuth.
- Guide data migration, reconciliation, and CMDB health practices (identification, reconciliation, normalization).
Security, Risk & Compliance
- Architect role-based access (RBAC/ACL), data separation, and privacy controls; collaborate with InfoSec and Audit.
- Ensure alignment with ITIL/ITSM processes, change controls, and platform security standards.
Delivery Leadership
- Lead technical design reviews, provide development guidance, and mentor admins/developers.
- Support Agile delivery (PI/sprint planning, backlog refinement, demos) and ensure architectural acceptance criteria.
- Oversee non-functional requirements: scalability, performance, resilience, observability, and cost.
Quality & Operations
- Promote Automated Test Framework (ATF), CI/CD practices, and instance strategy (Dev/Test/Prod, cloning, update sets/scoped apps).
- Define platform health KPIs, dashboards, and continuous improvement plans.
Required Qualifications
- 710+ years in enterprise platforms; 5+ years architecting and delivering ServiceNow solutions.
- Demonstrated experience architecting multiple modules (e.g., ITSM + ITOM/Discovery, CSM, HRSD, SPM, SAM/HAM, SecOps/IRM).
- Deep knowledge of CSDM, CMDB design, service mapping, and data governance.
- Strong proficiency with platform architecture and development concepts: business rules, client/server scripting (JavaScript/Glide API), UI policies/actions, Flow Designer, IntegrationHub, notifications, SLAs.
- Proven track record leading complex integrations and multi-team programs in Agile/Scrumenvironments.
- Excellent communication, workshop facilitation, and stakeholder management skills (business and technical).
Preferred Qualifications & Certifications
- ServiceNow:
- CSA (Certified System Administrator) required/preferred
- CAD (Certified Application Developer)
- CIS in two or more (ITSM, Discovery, CMDB, CSM, HR, SAM, SPM, SecOps/IRM)
- CTA (Certified Technical Architect) or CAD-Architect/Architect MicroCerts (if available)
- Frameworks: ITIL v4 Foundation+, TOGAF or comparable EA framework knowledge.
- Experience with:
- Discovery & Service Mapping, Event Mgmt., Health/Diagnostics, instance scanning
- ATF, DevOps/CICD, Git, update set governance, scoped applications
- Observability and performance tuning (query tuning, indexing, table design)
- Data privacy, SOX, HIPAA, PCI (as applicable)
