Department Overview
We are building the infrastructure for Rakuten Life Insurance's services. This is a crucial position that supports the foundation of Rakuten Life Insurance, using new technologies to prepare the necessary environment for applications to run, creating an environment where business divisions can work more easily, and improving Rakuten Life Insurance's services. This role focuses on building the system infrastructure that supports Rakuten Life Insurance’s services. You will design and implement server platforms that form the foundation of systems closely connected to insurance operations. By working closely with both internal teams and other departments, you will gain a broad understanding of how an insurance company’s systems work as a whole.

Position Details
You will primarily be responsible for serving as the Group Leader of the System Infrastructure Development Group at Rakuten Life Insurance Co., Ltd.
Group Management
You will oversee and manage the server infrastructure group, including the following responsibilities:
- Design, construction, operation, and maintenance of system infrastructure such as servers
- Driving and managing infrastructure-related projects, including planning and execution
- Incident and failure response related to system infrastructure
Continuous Improvement and Issue Resolution
- Promote continuous team improvement by applying the PDCA cycle in daily operations and addressing operational challenges proactively.

The System Infrastructure Department consists of three groups: System Infrastructure Development Group, System Operation Group, Network Management Group. You are slated to be assigned to System Infrastructure Development Group.

Mandatory Qualifications:
- At least 5 years of experience in managing teams such as a server or infrastructure team
- At least 2 years of experience in designing, building, and maintaining Linux servers
- At least 2 years of experience in project management, including planning and execution
Desired Qualifications:
- Experience in infrastructure operations, including physical (on‑premises) servers
- At least 2 years of experience in operating and maintaining Windows servers
- At least 2 years of experience in operating and maintaining VMware products (vSphere/Horizon)
- Work experience in a financial institution (e.g., insurance, banking, securities)
