Department Overview
Information Systems Division oversees the IT infrastructure of Rakuten Insurance group, maintaining the core insurance system. Moreover, we actively work to develop the new products and improve IT services through the technology, closely collaborating with the business.
Main assignment of Group Manager is the leader of the technology group (technology teams) who drive the team members for the high quality system development.

As the business continues to expand, multiple development projects are progressing in parallel within the System Development Department. We are seeking a Group Manager who can lead teams from both a project execution and organizational management perspective.
Position Details
Project Promotion and Application support in Rakuten Life Insurance Information Systems Division
- Lead the application development group (multiple teams)
- Drive multiple concurrent development projects
- Mentor and develop development team members
- Vendor control
- Respond to and manage system incidents
- Evaluate and propose system improvements
- Communicate with other departments and teams

There are two groups: Core System Dev Group and Agent & Web Dev Group. Projects are driven forward in units consisting of several employees and several members from partner companies. Mostly career professional Windows/Linux
Mandatory Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years of system development experience
- Experience of developing web systems, enterprise systems, network architectures
- System experience on both Windows/Unix OS
- Team management skill
- Communication skill
- Problem-solving ability
- Japanese language native or fluent
Desired Qualifications:
- Obtain ITEE certifications
- Supervisory position experience is welcomed
- Experience of IT manager of insurance/financial industry may be advantageous
- Business English
