The Marketing Division leads brand, creative, marketing, and membership as a cross-group organization with a mission to expand Rakuten Group's membership value and ecosystem of over 70 services.
Department Overview
The Group Marketing Department, as a cross-company marketing organization, promotes the efficiency and optimization of group-wide marketing through "strengthening compliance governance," "acquiring new users," and "improving retention and engagement of existing users.
Within the department, the IMS Group (Integrated Media Strategy Group) is a team whose mission is to optimize advertising investment across the entire Rakuten Group. The team acts as a bridge between business units and external stakeholders for both online and offline advertising, supporting efficient ad investment. The team also builds relationships with digital media partners such as Google and Meta, and provides marketing support and consulting to each Rakuten Group business unit.
The organization brings together experts in advertising and marketing, including online advertising and TV commercials. These specialists participate in projects for various businesses and support business marketing with their expertise.
The organization is also responsible for developing and operating governance frameworks to ensure that marketing activities across the Rakuten Group are conducted appropriately and safely.

Position Details
You will be responsible for the following duties.
- Support advertising placements for each Rakuten Group business unit (BU)
- Hold meetings, provide proposals, and review campaigns with BU marketing teams
- Liaise and manage relationships with external stakeholders (agencies, media, etc.)
- Plan, implement, and systematize group-wide marketing standards and rules
- Communicate with internal stakeholders across business marketing, development, and quality management departments
Work Environment
7 members including agency staff
Backgrounds include media companies, advertising agencies, and new graduates
Mandatory Qualifications:
Approximately 3 years of hands-on experience in advertising-related work at a media company, advertising agency, consulting firm, or advertiser (e.g., ad planning or sales at an agency; digital advertising operations at an advertiser)
Project management experience
Desired Qualifications:
- Experience in industries related to Rakuten Group services (e-commerce, finance, entertainment, etc.)
