Immigration VA

Colombia Remote April 17, 2026 Lever

Overview

We are seeking an experienced Immigration Virtual Assistant who can hit the ground running with minimal supervision.

This role is not entry-level — you must already have hands-on experience completing U.S. immigration forms and working with supporting documentation.

You will support a busy immigration law office by handling the most time-consuming backend work, allowing the in-office team to focus on client interaction.

Key Responsibilities

Immigration Forms (CORE)

  • Complete U.S. immigration forms accurately and independently:

    • N-400 (Citizenship)

    • I-130 (Family Petition)

    • I-485 (Green Card)

    • I-601A (Waiver)

  • Review client intake information and input into systems

  • Ensure all data is correct, complete, and consistent across forms

Document Management

  • Review and organize client documents (passports, tax docs, etc.)

  • Identify missing documents and follow up with clients

  • Extract key information (e.g. passport numbers, travel history, I-94)

  • Work within Google Drive to manage files

Client Communication (Light)

  • Send simple follow-ups (mostly written)

    • Request missing documents

    • Clarify unclear information

  • Use Spanish when needed (or tools like Google Translate if required)

 Translation Support

  • Translate forms and documents into Spanish

  • Assist with bilingual communication where necessary

Tools & Systems

  • Google Drive / Docs

  • Immigration software (any of the below is a plus):

    • e-Immigration / Serenade

    • Docketwise

    • Filevine

    • Imaginiti

Requirements (NON-NEGOTIABLE)

  • 3–4+ years experience in U.S. immigration work

  • Proven experience completing immigration forms (not just reviewing)

  • Strong understanding of:

    • USCIS processes

    • Immigration documentation

  • Ability to work independently without constant questions

  • Strong attention to detail

Nice to Have

  • Spanish (preferred but not always required)

  • Experience with immigration software

  • Experience working remotely

Hours & Flexibility

  • Starting at 10 hours/week

  • Flexible schedule (task-based)

  • Must meet deadlines (e.g. forms completed within 1–2 days)

Growth Opportunity

  • Hours will increase based on performance

  • Potential for long-term ongoing work
