Your impact

 

 

As an Engineer – Mechanical, you will play a critical role in supporting operational efficiency and project delivery by coordinating and executing mechanical engineering activities. Your contribution will help ensure safe, compliant, and reliable engineering outcomes while supporting the organisation’s operational goals and values.

 

 

As part of our team you will

 

 

  • Execute mechanical engineering activities to support efficient and compliant operations
  • Ensure strict adherence to safety protocols, standards, and procedures
  • Assist in the preparation, execution, and monitoring of engineering schedules and plans
  • Monitor performance metrics and prepare accurate engineering reports
  • Coordinate logistics for mechanical engineering projects
  • Conduct regular inspections and safety audits across mechanical processes
  • Support troubleshooting and resolution of mechanical engineering issues
  • Assist with training and instruction of new employees on engineering procedures and safety practices
  • Maintain accurate records of engineering activities, performance data, and compliance documentation
  • Identify, evaluate, and manage risks through effective mitigation and continuous monitoring
  • Actively contribute as a team member by identifying improvement opportunities, raising issues, and stopping unsafe work when required

 

 

Prerequisites for your success in the role

 

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline
  • Minimum 8+ years’ experience in the mining industry, within operational and/or project-based environments
  • Strong applied knowledge of mechanical engineering in mining operations, with exposure across the full process plant
  • Proven technical understanding of crushing, grinding, milling, and associated materials handling systems, with the ability to understand end‑to‑end plant interactions
  • Experience in project monitoring, technical support, data analysis, and engineering reporting
  • Demonstrated knowledge of safety compliance, risk management, and process optimisation within a heavy industrial or mining environment
  • Ability to follow established procedures while applying practical judgement to resolve complex mechanical and operational issues
  • Capability to identify risks, develop mitigation strategies, and continuously monitor outcomes
  • Competence in mechanical project operations, plant troubleshooting, and performance monitoring
  • Clear communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across engineering, operations, HSE, and contractor teams
  • A proactive mindset with a strong focus on continuous improvement, safety leadership, and accountability

 

 

Your work environment

 

 

This role is based at Boddington Gold Mine and operates on a 5/2, 4/3 roster. You will be part of a high‑performing processing team within a complex gold operation that prioritises safety, teamwork, and continuous improvement. Village accommodation is available for the ideal candidate.

 

This is a fast‑paced operational environment where safety, teamwork, and engineering excellence are fundamental. You will be supported by established procedures, technical resources, and a culture that values speaking up, learning, and continuous improvement.
