EDI Developer - Healthcare (Edifecs)
We are seeking an experienced EDI Developer with strong hands-on expertise in Edifecs tools to join our team in Hyderabad. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and supporting healthcare EDI solutions while ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and maintain EDI maps and transaction flows using Edifecs tools
- Handle healthcare EDI transactions including 837 (P/I/D), 835, 270/271, 276/277, 277CA, 834, 820, and PACDR
- Develop and maintain data transformations between X12, XML, JSON, and flat file formats
- Support trading partner integrations via VAN, SFTP, and other protocols
- Configure and manage both batch and real-time processing workflows
- Perform EDI validation, error handling, and troubleshooting
- Collaborate with business analysts and healthcare SMEs to understand and implement requirements
- Provide production support, conduct root cause analysis, and implement defect fixes
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA, X12 5010, and other regulatory standards
- Participate in testing, deployment, and post-production support activities
- Create and maintain technical documentation and operational procedures
Required Skills & Qualifications
- 4+ years of hands-on experience with EDI tools (Edifecs/ITX)
- Strong knowledge of healthcare EDI standards (X12, HIPAA)
- Hands-on experience with SpecBuilder, MapBuilder, XEngine/Design Studio, Launcher, and ITX runtime
- Solid understanding of EDI compliance, validations, and mapping guidelines
- Experience with EDI acknowledgments (999, 277CA)
- Proficiency in batch processing and real-time EDI flows
- Good understanding of healthcare domain concepts (claims, eligibility, payments)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and stakeholder interaction abilities
Good to Have
- Exposure to cloud deployments (AWS/Azure)
- Knowledge of SQL and database tracking
- Experience with production support and on-call rotations
- Understanding of payer/provider workflows
