Role Overview
We are looking for an experienced EDI Developer to design, develop, and support healthcare EDI solutions. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with Edifecs tools and a solid understanding of healthcare EDI transactions and compliance standards.
Key Responsibilities
  • Develop, test, and maintain maps and flows for healthcare EDI transactions.
  • Work on healthcare EDI transactions such as 837 (P/I/D), 835, 270/271, 276/277, 277CA, 834, 820, PACDR
  • Design and maintain data transformations between X12, XML, JSON, and flat files.
  • Support trading partner integrations (VAN, SFTP, etc.) and backend data exchange.
  • Configure and support batch and real-time processing
  • Perform EDI validation, error handling, and troubleshooting
  • Work closely with business analysts and healthcare SMEs to understand requirements
  • Support production issues, root cause analysis, and defect fixes
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA, X12 5010, and other regulatory standards
  • Participate in testing, deployment, and post-production support activities
  • Document technical designs and operational procedures
Required Skills & Qualifications
  • 4+ years of hands-on experience with EDI tools (ITX/EDIFECS)
  • Strong knowledge of healthcare EDI standards ( X12, HIPAA )
  • Experience with ( SpecBuilder, MapBuilder, XEngine/ Design Studio, Launcher, ITX runtime)
  • Good understanding of EDI compliance, validations, and mapping guidelines.
  • Hands-on experience in EDI validations, acknowledgments ( 999, 277CA )
  • Experience with batch processing and real-time EDI flows
  • Good understanding of healthcare domain concepts (claims, eligibility, payments)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Good communication and stakeholder interaction skills
Good to Have
  • Exposure to cloud deployments (AWS/Azure)
  • Knowledge of SQL and database tracking
  • Experience with production support and on-call rotations
  • Understanding of payer/provider workflows
Education
  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
