Accountabilities:

  • Define and lead the overall marketing, brand, and audience distribution strategy for elections-related initiatives across paid, organic, and partnership channels.
  • Own and optimize paid media strategy and budget allocation, ensuring efficient spend, strong performance, and clear measurement of impact.
  • Drive voter engagement and ballot exploration by developing high-performing acquisition and engagement campaigns across key digital platforms.
  • Manage external agencies, providing direction on creative strategy, audience targeting, experimentation, and performance optimization.
  • Collaborate closely with Growth Product, Engineering, and Finance teams to improve user journeys, reduce acquisition costs, and ensure responsible forecasting.
  • Develop and steward a trusted, nonpartisan brand narrative that builds credibility, clarity, and engagement with diverse voter populations.
  • Translate complex civic and electoral information into accessible messaging that drives awareness, understanding, and action.
  • Lead and support a small marketing team, balancing strategic leadership with hands-on execution during high-intensity election cycles.
  • Build strong cross-functional relationships to ensure alignment on product experiences, compliance, and campaign execution.
  • Support long-term planning for scaling marketing capabilities into future election cycles and broader civic engagement initiatives.
  • Requirements:

    • 10+ years of experience in marketing, growth, audience development, or communications roles.
    • Background in political campaigns, civic organizations, public-interest technology, or related mission-driven environments strongly preferred.
    • Proven experience leading marketing strategy in high-stakes, public-facing, trust-sensitive environments.
    • Strong expertise in growth marketing, including paid media strategy, experimentation, and performance optimization.
    • Experience managing large paid media budgets and external agency relationships across digital platforms.
    • Ability to develop and steward brand narratives that build trust and resonate across diverse audiences.
    • Strong analytical skills with experience using data to measure performance and optimize campaigns.
    • Excellent communication and storytelling skills, with the ability to simplify complex civic or policy topics.
    • Experience in fast-paced, deadline-driven environments, with the ability to balance strategy and hands-on execution.
    • Deep understanding of electoral cycles, voter behavior, and nonpartisan civic engagement principles.
    • Strong cross-functional collaboration skills with Product, Engineering, Finance, Legal, and Policy teams.
