The Tax Accountant is responsible for managing the company’s tax compliance and reporting activities, including sales tax, state filings, and federal reporting. This role supports financial planning and investment analysis to ensure accurate tax projections and compliance with applicable regulations. The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of tax requirements, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.

What you’ll do:

  • Manage and maintain sales tax compliance, ensuring accurate reporting and timely remittance.
  • Prepare and file state-level tax returns, staying current with applicable regulations.
  • Assist with federal reporting requirements, including Census and BEA (Bureau of Economic Analysis) submissions.
  • Collaborate to provide tax insights and support financial forecasts and investment planning for projects as requested.
  • Ensure all tax-related records are accurate, complete, and in compliance with applicable laws and internal policies.
  • Identify potential tax risks or opportunities and recommend strategies to management.
  • Support internal and external audits related to tax filings and compliance.

What you'll need

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA designation preferred.
  • AND 1-2 years of experience in tax accounting or corporate accounting with a focus on sales and state taxes.
  • OR equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Knowledge of federal and state tax regulations, as well as Census and BEA reporting requirements.
  • Strong understanding of financial statements, forecasts, and investment planning.
  • Proficiency in Excel and accounting/tax software. Experience in SAP preferred
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
