Solution Engineering Manager - UL Portfolio
We are looking for: Solution Engineering - Manager UL Portfolio,
Youll make an impact by:
- Provide strategic leadership to engineering managers and functional leaders to support the quotation, engineering and product design activities for the Siemens US Electrification & Automation business.
- Define and execute long-term engineering strategy aligned with U.S. MV/LV switchgear market needs, product platforms, safety requirements, and growth objectives of the business unit.
- Act as the primary leadership interface between the India engineering hub and U.S.-based functions and business segments.
- Build a scalable, high-performance engineering organization through talent development, succession planning, and capability building.
- Provide executive oversight for quotation engineering to ensure technical accuracy, competitive solutions, and appropriate risk assessment.
- Partner with Sales, Commercial, and Product Management teams to support complex bids, strategic accounts, and customer-specific solutions.
- Work closely with the US Product care team to champion design-for-cost, design-for-manufacturability, and design-for-reliability initiatives to support margin, productivity and quality objectives.
- Own the engineering delivery for U.S. MV/LV switchgear orders, ensuring on-time, right-first-time engineering outputs.
- Lead resolution of critical engineering quality or delivery issues, ensuring root cause analysis and sustainable corrective actions.
- Ensure all the deliverables comply with U.S. standards and regulatory requirements (e.g., NEC, IEEE, UL, ANSI), as well as internal design and safety policies.
- Drive cultural excellence by fostering accountability, collaboration, innovation, employe satisfaction and continuous improvement across the engineering organization.
- Establish governance frameworks, standardized processes, and operational guidelines to ensure predictable delivery, cost control, and high-quality engineering output.
- Manage cross-time-zone operations and governance to support responsiveness and business continuity.

- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or mechanical engineering
- Minimum of 15 years of experience in electrical power industry.
- 7+ years of experience in senior engineering leadership roles managing multiple managers and multi-disciplinary engineering teams.
- Demonstrated experience managing P&Ls for the department/division.
- Proven track record to work cross functionally with multiple departments, such as Sales, Product Management, Engineering, and Project Management.
- Solid financial knowledge to understand and participate in ongoing business planning and strategy development activities.
- Excellent collaboration, and decision-making skills in a team environment, and demonstrated ability to perform and prioritize multiple, simultaneous tasks while maintaining excellent customer service.
- Effective communications skills to effectively and accurately communicate with internal and external customers.
- Proficient with MS Office Suite and various cloud-based tools and software
- Ability to travel to US and Mexico as the need arises (max. 10% travel).
