Site Engineer- Marine
A Marine Site Engineer (Breakwater & Bund Construction) is responsible for the safe, quality-compliant, and cost-effective delivery of marine civil works on site. The role combines hands-on supervision with technical engineering input, ensuring that construction activities are executed in line with approved drawings, method statements, and applicable codes while maintaining close coordination with contractors, suppliers, and the client.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervising daily, on-site activities like pile driving, marine concrete work, and structural steel installation.
- Executing work according to approved methodologies and technical specifications.
- Preparing and studying work plans, drawings, and layouts.
- Ensuring compliance with quality standards (QMS), safety regulations, and environmental guidelines.
- Managing equipment, materials, and manpower to optimize productivity.
- Maintaining joint measurements of work done, preparing daily/weekly progress reports, and documentation for client billing.
- Interacting with contractors and subcontractors to achieve targets.
- Support site QS in preparing variations, RFIs, and claims related to scope growth, unforeseen ground conditions, or methodology changes.
- Bachelors in Civil Engineering (Specialisation in Geotechnical Engineering preferred)
- Minimum 10 years in marine projects with construction of breakwater /bund in marine environment
