About the Role

The SEO Expert will be responsible for building and executing ICICI Lombards organic growth strategy, improving rankings for priority insurance categories, and ensuring best-in-class discoverability across our digital assets (website, mobile site, and blogs). The role demands deep SEO expertise, strong analytical skills, and an understanding of how customers search for insurance products online.

Key Responsibilities

SEO Strategy & Execution

  • Develop and implement an SEO roadmap tailored for the insurance sector, focusing on high-intent categories like Health, Motor, Travel, and SME Insurance
  • Identify organic growth opportunities across funnel stages – discovery, consideration, and conversion
  • Collaborate with product, marketing, and tech teams to ensure SEO alignment across all digital initiatives

Keyword & Competitor Intelligence

  • Conduct in-depth keyword research and clustering focused on insurance-specific intents (e.g., “health insurance for family”, “cashless car insurance”)
  • Monitor competitors in the insurance and BFSI space to identify content gaps and ranking opportunities

On-Page & Content SEO

  • Optimize product pages, blogs, FAQs, and advisory content to maximize relevance and rankings
  • Work closely with the content team to ensure compliance while maintaining SEO best practices
  • Implement internal linking strategies to enhance topical authority.

Technical SEO

  • Perform regular audits to identify issues related to crawlability, indexing, sitemaps, mobile responsiveness, Core Web Vitals, and schema markup
  • Partner with the technology team to improve site structure, page performance, and overall technical health

Off-Page SEO & Authority Building

  • Lead white-hat link-building initiatives to strengthen domain authority for insurance product categories
  • Monitor brand mentions, referral traffic, and manage toxic links

Analytics, Reporting & Optimization

  • Track and measure performance across:
  • Google Search Console
  • Google Analytics / GA4
  • Provide actionable insights to push growth in traffic, CTR, rankings, and conversions for key insurance products

Required Qualifications & Skills

Experience

  • 4–5 years of hands-on experience in SEO, preferably in BFSI, insurance, fintech, or large consumer websites
  • Strong understanding of search behaviour in the insurance category
  • Proven experience in driving organic growth and improving keyword rankings at scale

Technical Skills

  • Strong command over SEO tools
  • Ability to work with cross-functional teams – content, product, tech, UX, and compliance
  • Familiarity with HTML/CSS and understanding of technical SEO is a plus
