Senior Project Manager(Solar (IPP Projects))
Key Responsibilities Project Development & Execution • Lead the complete lifecycle of IPP solar projects including pre-construction planning, EPC execution, commissioning, and COD • Coordinate with internal development, engineering, EPC contractors, and consultants • Ensure projects are delivered on time, within approved budgets, and as per performance guarantees • Track project milestones, critical paths, and risks using structured project management tools EPC & Vendor Management • Manage and monitor EPC contractors, key vendors, and consultants • Review EPC execution plans, construction schedules, and progress reports • Ensure contractual compliance with scope, timelines, quality standards, and safety norms • Handle variation orders, claims, and dispute resolution in coordination with commercial teams Stakeholder, Regulatory & Utility Coordination • Act as the primary interface with DISCOMs, SLDCs, transmission utilities, and statutory authorities • Ensure compliance with MNRE guidelines, grid connectivity, evacuation approvals, and statutory permits • Coordinate PPA-related milestones and support regulatory documentation Quality, Safety & Compliance • Ensure strict adherence to HSE standards, statutory regulations, and company policies • Oversee implementation of QA/QC plans, inspection protocols, and method statements • Ensure construction quality supports long-term asset reliability and performance Commercial & Risk Management • Monitor project budgets, BOQs, billing milestones, and cash flows • Identify project risks (technical, regulatory, commercial) and implement mitigation plans • Support financial closure requirements, lender coordination, and audit documentation Team Leadership & Cross-Functional Coordination • Lead and mentor Project Managers, Site Engineers, QA/QC, and Safety teams • Coordinate with internal Engineering, SCM, Finance, Legal, and O&M teams • Drive accountability, performance culture, and knowledge sharing across project teams Key Requirements Education • Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering (Mandatory) • Masters degree, PMP, or equivalent certification will be an added advantage Experience • 15–16 years of experience in Renewable Energy with strong exposure to Solar IPP projects • Proven experience in managing utility-scale solar power plants under IPP/Developer model • Experience handling multi-crore capital projects and multi-location portfolios Technical & Domain Skills • Strong understanding of solar PV technology, BOS, inverters, evacuation systems, and grid integration • Experience coordinating EPC contractors and transitioning projects to O&M teams • Hands-on knowledge of project scheduling tools (MS Project / Primavera) • Good understanding of PPAs, EPC contracts, BOQs, billing structures, and regulatory approvals Behavioral Competencies • Strong leadership, ownership, and decision-making capability • Excellent stakeholder and regulatory coordination skills • Commercially aware with strong risk-management mindset • Ability to work under pressure and manage complex, long-gestation projects
