Senior Data Engineer

Location- Hybrid, Pune/Kolkata

Position Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Data Engineer to join our team in Pune. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, building and maintaining scalable data pipelines and transformation workflows for our data platform. The role involves working with modern data warehousing and lakehouse technologies to ensure reliable, highquality data for downstream analytics and reporting.

Responsibilities-

• Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines and data workflows to support analytics and reporting needs. Work on data ingestion, transformation, and storage across structured data systems
• Apply strong data warehousing principles to ensure data is reliable, consistent, and wellmodelled.Collaborate with backend and frontend teams to enable efficient data access and usage.
• Ensure data quality, correctness, and performance across data processes.
• Participate in technical discussions and contribute to improving data architecture and standards.
• Troubleshoot data issues and optimize existing pipelines for performance and scalability.
• Document data flows, transformations, and assumptions for maintainability and knowledge sharing.
• Stay aligned with best practices in data engineering and evolving data technologies.

Qualifications-

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience working in data engineering or datafocused software engineering roles
• Strong understanding of data warehousing concepts and data modelling principles.
• Must have knowledge on Data Platforms & Warehouses - Databricks/Azure Synapse
• Sound knowledge on Data Processing & Orchestration / ETL - dbt/Apache Spark, storage - Data lakes (S3, ADLS, GCS), Parquet, Delta, Duck db
• Must have knowledge on programming  skills like Python & SQL
• Should have good knowledge on visualization & reporting - Any BI tool 
• Experience working with modern data platforms or warehouses.
• Strong problemsolving skills and the ability to work effectively in crossfunctional teams.
• A proactive and collaborative mindset.
• Good to have - Experience with CI/CD practices, working knowledge of Python for data processing, exposure to AI/ML workflows.
