Job Description
The Manager Research Senior Associate role is an exciting opportunity for someone passionate about investments to be part of the Ameriprise Investment Research Group. This role is responsible for supporting firm and product due diligence, investment analysis and selection of Exchange Traded Funds, Closed-End Funds, and Unit Investment Trusts.Key Responsibilities
Conduct autonomous, comprehensive investment research, analysis and selection for assigned product lines. This includes the use of qualitative and quantitative techniques to evaluate investments and associated products.
Prepare written reports that identify trends, opportunities, and recommendations related to assigned coverage area.
Communicate investment information concisely both in writing and verbally to a variety of constituents, including the Investment Committee, sales team and advisors.
Support initial and ongoing due diligence reviews of asset management companies (including product level reviews). This includes: on-site visits, questionnaire management, direct interviews with firms’ senior management and investment teams to gain insight and build conviction in the strength and consistency of their investment philosophy, process and the people managing the strategies.
Maintain, enhance, and develop quantitative tools to assist in evaluation of investment strategies.
Required Qualifications
1 - 3 years' relevant experience
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience, preferably in Finance, Investments, Economics, or Business.
Active Series 7 or ability to obtain within 120 days
Preferred Qualifications
Demonstrate understanding of and passion for investments, economics, capital markets, and statistics.
Understanding of ETFs, Closed-End Funds, and UITs
Strong working knowledge of Excel
Attention to detail, accuracy and high level of personal accountability.
Strong quantitative skills and the ability to effectively communicate investment knowledge.
Prior research experience with a focus on ETFs, Closed-End Funds, and/or UITs
Experience with analytical software used to evaluate investments (FactSet, Morningstar Direct, Bloomberg)
Interest in pursuing the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) Designation

Our employees work in the office at least four (4) days per week, with flexibility to work from home one (1) day per week. Base Pay Salary
The estimated base salary for this role is $81,700 - $112,300 / year. We have a pay-for-performance compensation philosophy. Your initial total compensation may vary based on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and geographical work location. In addition, most of our roles are eligible for variable pay in the form of bonus, commissions, and/or long-term incentives depending on the role.
