About the Role

The Senior Analyst, Benefits & HR is a senior individual contributor on the Analytics, Benefits & Compensation team and plays a critical role in delivering an effective, consistent, and high quality benefits experience for employees. This role owns the execution and day to day administration of benefits programs, employee inquiries, communications, and open enrollment while bringing rigor, clarity, and process discipline to how benefits are delivered across the organization. The role works closely with the HR Advisory team as a trusted benefits subject matter expert, particularly where benefits and leave intersect with employee relations, helping Advisory partners manage risk and support employees effectively. Through strong partnership, clear communication, and disciplined execution, this role elevates how benefits are understood, experienced, and supported across the business. Key responsibilities include:

  • Own the administration and ongoing management of the Company’s health and welfare, retirement, and ancillary benefit programs, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and a high‑quality employee experience.
  • Lead coordination of employee leaves of absence and workplace accommodations in partnership with the Company’s leave administration vendor, providing expert guidance on compliance and supporting effective employee outcomes.
  • Serve as a trusted subject‑matter expert on benefits and leave for employees, leaders, and HR partners by resolving complex issues, managing vendor escalations, and guiding employees through benefits and leave decisions.
  • Play a key role in the annual benefits renewal and open enrollment processes by partnering with consultants and carriers, analyzing utilization and plan effectiveness, developing communications and employee education materials, and ensuring accurate transmission of elections.
  • Partner closely with the HR Advisory team to support employee and manager inquiries across HR programs, with particular focus on matters where benefits, leave, and employee relations intersect.
  • Support employee orientation and onboarding and offboarding processes by partnering with HR colleagues to deliver consistent experiences, maintain resources, and continuously improve materials and documentation.
  • Collaborate with HR Advisory, HR Systems & Analytics, and Workday partners on HR projects and initiatives, including translating business needs into system requirements, supporting testing, documentation, communications, and training materials.
  • Develop, maintain, and improve HR‑related content and resources, including intranet materials, process documentation, reporting, research, and special projects that enhance operational efficiency and consistency across HR.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Human Resources, Accounting, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in benefits analysis and administration within a complex, fast‑paced organization.
  • Must be located in the Chicago, IL surrounding area, or willing to relocate for the duration of employment.
  • Willingness to adapt and thrive in a blended work environment with three days in office, seamlessly transitioning between remote and in‑office work.
  • Working knowledge of multiple HR disciplines including benefits, compensation, employee relations, performance management, and federal and state employment laws
  • Proven ability to communicate effectively with employees and leaders through clear, polished written and verbal communication, with strong attention to detail and executive presence.
  • Strong business acumen and analytical mindset with the ability to use data, logic, and market insight to improve processes, manage risk, and drive effective execution.
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize work, manage competing demands, and maintain effectiveness in a dynamic, changing, and collaborative environment.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without need for employer sponsorship now or in the future.

The estimated base salary range for this position is $70,000 – $120,000 per year. This range reflects a good-faith estimate of the base salary Ventas reasonably expects to pay at the time of posting. Actual base pay will be determined based on work location, skills, qualifications, relevant experience, and business needs.

In addition to base salary, this role is eligible for discretionary incentive compensation and a comprehensive benefits package, which includes medical, dental, vision, retirement savings, paid time off, and other wellness benefits under applicable plan terms.
