Role Overview
We are looking for a qualified Chartered Accountant to join the Accounting & External Reporting team of a large, complex FMCG organization. 
 
This role will be part of the controllership and reporting ecosystem and will support financial reporting, accounting governance, audit readiness, compliance, and stakeholder partnering. The role requires strong fundamentals, comfort with complexity, and the ability to work across business finance, shared services, tax, audit, and controllership teams. 
 

Experience We Are Looking For 
 

Prior experience in Accounting & External Reporting / Controllership / Financial Reporting is highly preferred. 
 
This is important because the role requires someone who can understand financial statements, accounting treatment, governance requirements, reporting timelines, and audit expectations with limited handholding. 
 
Relevant experience may include: 
 
Financial close and reporting 
Balance sheet reviews and reconciliations 
US GAAP / Ind AS reporting 
Statutory audit support 
External reporting schedules 
Accounting policy application 
Governance, controls, and compliance 
Working with shared services / outsourced finance teams 
Coordination with internal and external auditors 
 
Candidates from Big 4 audit, controllership, accounting advisory, external reporting, or corporate finance reporting teams would be strong fits. 
 
Also Open To 
 
We are also open to candidates with experience in Business Finance / Commercial Finance / Finance Business Partnering, provided they have strong accounting fundamentals and the ability to move into a controllership-oriented role. 
 
Such candidates should ideally have exposure to: 
 
Month-end close activities 
P&L analysis and variance review 
Business performance reporting 
Cross-functional finance partnering 
Working with accounting, tax, audit, or shared services teams 
Understanding of accounting entries, provisions, accruals, and financial controls 
 
This route can work well for candidates who have operated close to the business but also understand the accounting and reporting backbone behind the numbers. 
 
Key Responsibilities  

  • Support monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close activities 

  • Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting under US GAAP and Ind AS 

  • Support accounting governance, reconciliations, and balance sheet hygiene 

  • Review accounting entries, accruals, provisions, and reporting schedules 

  • Partner with business finance, shared services, tax, treasury, internal controls, and audit teams 

  • Support statutory audit, internal audit, and external reporting requirements 

  • Help identify accounting risks, control gaps, and process improvement areas 

  • Ensure adherence to internal policies, financial controls, and reporting timelines 

  • Support simplification, standardization, and automation initiatives within reporting processes 

  • Build strong working relationships across finance and cross-functional teams 

Mandatory Requirements 
Qualified Chartered Accountant 
CA batch: 2022 to 2025 
Strong understanding of accounting concepts 
Working knowledge of US GAAP and Indian Accounting Standards / Ind AS 
Strong analytical ability and attention to detail 
Ability to work in a large, matrixed, process-driven organization 
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
