We are seeking a Sample Management Technician. The function of Sample Management is to provide all the services for receiving, preparing, storing, tracking, and disposing field research samples for Regulatory Sciences. Homogenized samples suitable for residue analysis which accurately represent and preserve the integrity of the submitted field specimens are produced within precise GLP guidelines with proper documentation. Sample Management is a subgroup of the Regulatory Analytical Sciences Group. A Sample Management Technician will report directly to the Laboratory Leader of Regulatory Analytical who will monitor daily work activities such as choice/wellness time, and performance plans. The position will have a secondary reporting line to the Sample Management Lead, who will be responsible for their training program, day-to-day operations and work priorities.
What You’ll Do:
Technicians in Sample Management will be responsible for performing all aspects of sample preparation. Responsibilities will include the following key aspects:
- Have knowledge of all sample preparation techniques commonly used in the department.
- Assist in receiving and transferring samples that are submitted for preparation and subsequent analysis.
- Use all of the sample preparation equipment. Be able to recognize when the equipment is not working properly and is in need of maintenance and to transmit this information to their supervisor.
- Be familiar with the following department documents pertaining to sample preparation and ensure that they are followed including internal SOPs, equipment manuals and any related operational and safety procedures.
- Be aware of GLP requirements pertaining to sample processing and ensure that they are always followed.
- Maintain timely and accurate sample preparation and tracking records.
- Maintain work area in a neat and orderly manner on a daily basis.
What You Need:
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- A Sample Management Technician should have some technical background and be familiar with common laboratory procedures, one to two years of experience preferred.
- Basic computer knowledge and able to perform mechanical procedures that require some physical strength.
- Capable of learning basic GLP regulations and able to perform routine preparation techniques in accordance with GLP guidelines and Corteva Agriscience safety policies.
- Maintain good daily communication with supervision, as well as all other personnel, as far as setting working schedules, coordinating efficient use of the space and instrumentation, while following departmental policies, and openly communicating problems and ideas.
