Production Agronomy Specialist
Position Purpose
To organize, coordinate, and control the full seed production cycle for key crops (corn, sunflower, winter rapeseed), ensure compliance with certification and phytosanitary requirements, manage partner relationships, and achieve high-quality seed production results.
Key Responsibilities
Agronomic and Production Management
Organize and control the entire seed production process in partner farms, including: proper placement of hybrids; control of sowing operations; field inspections and roguing; detasseling activities; organization and supervision of harvesting.
Ensure compliance with approved cultivation and crop protection technologies for: corn; sunflower; winter rapeseed.
Monitor the quality and timeliness of all field operations in accordance with technological maps.
Seed Production and Certification
Ensure compliance with national legislation and industry standards related to seed production.
Cooperate with state authorities, including: State Service of Ukraine on Food Safety and Consumer Protection (Derzhprodspozhyvsluzhba); Plant Variety Certification and Examination Centers.
Organize and support: phytosanitary field inspections; field certification (official field inspections) of seed production fields.
Prepare and maintain all required documentation for seed certification.
Partner Relations and Contract Management
Identify, negotiate with, and attract new seed production partners.
Conduct negotiations with seed producers and partner farms.
Understand basic contract terms and organize the contract signing process with partners.
Maintain long-term and effective partnership relationships.
Analysis and Reporting
Analyze seasonal seed production results.
Conduct end-of-season meetings with producers: provide clear evaluation of annual performance; present analytical conclusions and improvement recommendations.
Prepare internal production and performance reports.
Cross-Functional Cooperation
Provide agronomic and technical support to colleagues from other farms or regions when required.
Share expertise and best practices within the company.
Candidate Requirements
Education and Experience
Higher agronomic education — at least a Bachelor’s degree in Agronomy.
Proven practical experience in agronomy (experience in seed production is an advantage).
Strong knowledge of cultivation and crop protection technologies for corn, sunflower, and winter rapeseed.
Solid understanding of seed production principles for the above-mentioned crops.
Professional Skills
Strong negotiation and communication skills.
Ability to identify and attract new partners.
Basic understanding of agricultural contracts and commercial relationships.
Strong planning, organizational, and process-control skills.
Additional Requirements
Valid Category B driver’s license.
Practical driving experience.
Willingness to travel frequently and work in field conditions.
