POSITION SUMMARY:

Assist the Quality Assurance Manager, evaluate non conforming material rejected during primary manufacturing through management. Assist and train auditors in Quality Assurance procedures, blueprint reading and related measuring instruments. Perform product liability testing and calibration of gages. Record, evaluate and maintain reliable records of testing procedures performed and calibrations. Safely operate and set up specialized Quality Lab inspection/testing equipment to meet quality and production requirements.

PRINCIPAL FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Constant observation of all in-process manufacturing levels and evaluation of their adherence to good and establishyed quality standards.
  • Constant evaluation of the present quality assurance procedures and the awareness of the need for improvement in these areas.
  • Daily evaluation of any defective material from previous day’s production.
  • Assist the auditors when needed.
  • Perform product reliability testing.
  • Make frequent inspections of all phases of the manufacturing processes and provide assistance where needed.
  • Ability to calibrate gages, set gages, update / maintain a gage database and calibration records / files.
  • Maintain good employee relations and communications.
  • Responsible for maintaining good housekeeping within the department.
  • Other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 2-5 years experience in Metal Machining / Forming Industry
  • General knowledge / use and calibration of all types of Metrology Equipment (micrometers, calipers, height gages, profilometers, hardness testing, optical comparators, attribute/variable gaging)
  • Familiarity with all types of threads (straight & tapered) and gaging practices.
  • General knowledge / use of Microsoft office (outlook, excel, word, and power point)
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Highly organized and self–motivated individual with the ability to take ownership of areas of responsibility.
  • Must be a good listener.
  • Must be flexible and able to adapt to a rapidly changing environment.

PEREFRRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must be proficient in Microsoft office (outlook, excel, word, and power point)
  • Must be able to operate any specialized lab equipment.
  • Familiarity with the plumbing industry and products.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in Quality Assurance profession.
