Overall Purpose of job The overall purpose of this job is to deliver Occupational Health Wellbeing services in support of all staff across our Scotland, Southern and Northern Ireland networks. You'll be part of the in-house team, responsible to the delivery of an efficient and effective health surveillance programme and integral to the next phase of Occupational Health delivery at SGN. Working within the SHE team, in support of our strategic vision ‘Everyone Home Safe and Well’ and to our People Plan (Need the terminology??) Building on established services whilst delivering and supporting initiatives defined within our Wellbeing strategy. You’ll support the Senior Lead for Occupational Health Wellbeing in delivering an exemplary health and wellbeing service to the business.This role will include remote working and there is a requirement to travel to multiple sites within this role, transport will be provided. Responsibilities that are role specific: Deliver a range of health surveillance activities and other key occupational health requirements to our staff, covering industrial and non-industrial employees, in line with legal, statutory company requirements Support the Senior Lead to develop Occupational Health Wellbeing into the next phase of delivery, following initial establishment of the team two years ago Work in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders to ensure safe, effective, high quality, best practice delivery of Occupational Health Wellbeing services Be adaptable, agile, and insightful to business need, acting on and learning from feedback, striving to continuously improve delivery to provide the best customer experience possible Provide HR and Management with clinical advice in relation to fitness for work, adjustments or recommendations encouraging active behaviour change and a sustained presence at work Manage, mentor and coach the Occupational Health Technicians within professional boundaries and in support of individual development plans Key responsibilities: Deliver our health surveillance programme throughout the regulated and non-regulated areas of the business, in relation to specific job role and risk Provide timely, accurate and appropriate advice to the business on all matters relating to health and wellbeing within legal and best practice guidelines Supporting the Senior Lead in the development of policies and procedures as the suite of Occupational Health services expands Management of own workload and that of the OH Technician, maintaining monthly MI and escalating trends or key insights to the Senior Lead Ability to adapt and flex to competing demands, able to prioritise in a fast paced and changeable environment, resilient and resourceful Actively refer staff to interventions, support services or signposting to maintain or improve their health and wellbeing Working closely with HR and other key stakeholders to ensure Occupational Health delivers to business need, able to collaborate, influence and drive engagement Proactively communicate Wellbeing initiatives and information in support of our four pillars of health (mental, physical, financial, social) as defined within our Wellbeing Strategy - A Helping Hand Expertise The successful candidate must be a qualified Registered Nurse on Part 1 and preferably Part 3 of the NMC professional register (or working towards SCPHN – OH status), be IT literate and able to use Teams. Requirements: Registered RN, OH Diploma and/or SCPHN – OH Experience of delivering health surveillance programmes including HAVS Tier 3 Experience in case management and liaison with HR/Management regarding recommendations Supervisory or management experience is desirable Experience in delivering and communicating a Wellbeing Programme is desirable Mental Health experience is desirable Use of the Orchid Occupational Health Management System is desirable
